Dell Inspiron 6400 - Incorrect Startup/Boot Fan Noise

Problem: Dell Inspiron 6400 about 6 months old would only start up correctly about %50 of the time when temperature was below about 15 deg c. The fan would make a massive noise and the computer would run really slowly.

Solution: Upgrade your BIOS with the latest from http://www.dell.com.au.

Background: I had to contact dell support about this issue, and surprisingly I got a very quick response with the solution. Funny how there wasn't a post on the dell website saying what the problem was (well not that i could find anyway)

Hyundai Accent Doesn't Start

For all those people out there with a Hyundai Accent 2000 model and whose car will not start consistently. Here is the problem that we had and the solution

Problem: Car would not start consistently, starter motor was cranking everything over fine but it just would just not start.

Solution: The microchip reader (transponder) in the ignition is faulty. Take it to your nearest dealer for replacement (cost us about $150 for the part and about $50 for labor). Your key has a small micro chip that is used to disable the immobiliser in the car and if the microchip reader is not working correctly then your car will not start.

Background: Go straight to the dealer with this problem unless you can change the transponder yourself. We had this problem for about a year, because we went to other mechanics first. Some idiot mechanic even changed our starter motor for a nice fee of $200 before we went to the dealer. I couldn't find the solution anywhere on the net, hence this post.

Please post any extra information that i may have missed if you had/are having the same problem.
